Teen Program

Brought to you by Generation Joshua . . . the 2017 National Leaders Conference program for teens (ages 13–18)!

Generation Joshua is HSLDA’s civics education and activism division for youth. At the conference, we will be offering a two-day training event for high school students.

Generation Joshua specializes in turning something that is usually taught through books and lectures into a full-scale interactive learning process that engages students on multiple levels. Teens learn best when they can employ all of their senses. Thus, in every program we offer, students get to learn through roleplay and by actually doing things.

Generation Joshua’s program at this year’s National Leaders Conference will bring civics to life for your teen!

Our exciting teen program, iCommand, is an intense U.S. foreign policy crisis simulation that allows students to roleplay as members of the State Department, Department of Defense, and various national security organizations. Through interactive lectures, creative problem solving, kinetic simulations, and individual coaching and mentoring, students will develop and test their own ideas about foreign policy, limited government, and how the United States should act on the world stage. They will also learn teamwork, leadership skills, how to excel in a stressful environment, how to work through the consequences of decisions, how to make hard decisions when it hurts, and the nature of civic responsibility.
